Considerations for disability characteristics ・These scissors enable the desired object to be cut by applying just a little finger strength and then relaxing it. These scissor require even less strength to use than over universal design scissors.
・Before using the scissors, the children/students should be taught as much as possible about the sort of hand and finger sensory control which is conducive to easily handling scissors.
Expected effects and results ・Students are able to enjoy being able to cut paper on their own, which fosters self-confidence for arts and crafts and all other situations where scissors will be used.              
・Students enjoy learning how to modulate their strength over time with practice that requires greater or lesser strength to be applied depending upon the target object, and this strength modulation can then be applied to handling other objects.      
・Students develop greater interest in handling the teaching aids and materials, and this interest spreads to other objects.

Even children/students who have difficulty handling scissors on their own are able to learn strength modulation if the teacher places their hand over the child's/student's while showing them how to apply force.
