---|---|
Disability category | physically challenged |
Teaching units / Applicable scenes | teaching and learning tools, auxiliary aids |
Specific purposes | ・To help students with disabilities make use of the great resource which tablet computers represent by preventing mistaken operations which result when the screen is brushed by a shaking palm. |
Considerations for disability characteristics | Wearing a glove will prevent tablet screens from reacting to touch. |
Expected effects and results | Students who have been unable to use tablets thus far due to the fact that their palms brush the screen were able to use them as an alternative means of writing in class. |
How to use | In the case of the student in the photograph, one glove was not enough to prevent the screen from reacting when it was touched forcefully; however, two gloves resolves this issue. Also, in the case of students who have difficulty moving their hands, they tend to touch two keys simultaneously when using a software keyboard; thus, a stylus is used. |

The stylus used in this example is the Su-pen by Metamoji. Styluses sold by volume retailers vary in terms of ease of writing; however, it is likely that they will work similarly to this example. The interior of the glove is normal, but a supporter is added to the glove's exterior. |
