Considerations for disability characteristics |
・The thermometer was covered in felt to provide a soft feeling instead of the cold, hard plastic tip of the thermometer. ・In order to give the felt-covered thermometer a more familiar feel, the child in this example decorated it to look like his favorite television personality, "Mr. Tamori." ・A stopper made of the same material was added to help ensure the sensor was situated in the correct spot underarm. ・"Anpan Man" and "Baikin Man" (popular cartoon characters) versions were also created. |
Expected effects and results |
・Children learned to insert and hold the thermometer in place with their underarms. ・At the dormitory, every day an increasing number of children willing visit the temperature-taking room and take their own temperature. |
How to use |
1. Put a thermometer cover over the thermometer. 2. Put the covered thermometer in the child's underarm, and take his/her temperature. |
