Considerations for disability characteristics ・Pictures and writing are used visually present the activity and overall activity flow to young children who have difficulty focusing or maintaining focus or who have difficulty understanding only verbal directions.
・The teacher speaks to the child about the activity while showing the preparation activity procedure card pictures and words.
・The procedure cards should be modified to suit the children's needs, such as by making the pictures and writing larger or turning them into a flip-type card book.
Expected effects and results ・Children who have difficulty with only verbal instructions for preparation activities will be able to perform these tasks independently, or with a small amount of help.
・First, the teacher provided verbal instruction while pointing out the procedure on the procedure cards. Once the child understood how the procedure card worked, he was able to use the cards to independently perform the tasks in order, while the teacher simply stood nearby.
How to use 1. Have the child look at the photos and words on the procedure cards in order, so that he/she can learn the details of the preparation tasks.
2. Have the child perform the numbered preparation task.
3. Remove the completed card and stick it on the back.
4. Have the child learn the next numbered task.
5. Perform steps 1 to 4 for all morning preparation tasks, and once all cards are stuck on the back, the activity is complete.
