Disability category | mentally challenged autism |
Teaching units / Applicable scenes | activities for independent living instruction of play pre-school education |
Specific purposes | ・For teachers to use the number panel to play with children while getting them to try to indicate numbers with their fingers or vocalize them. |
Considerations for disability characteristics |
・In the example shown here, the panel was made to look like one that appears in a quiz show that the child likes. ・Rubber bands were attached to enable the panel numbers to be flipped over, thereby getting interest and attention from the young child. |
Expected effects and results | ・The child was interested in the number panel and was able to imitate what the teacher said ("One!") and indicate the number with his finger to make a selection. |
How to use |
1. The child reads out and/or uses fingers to choose a number. 2. The chosen number panel is flipped over, revealing a card of a toy car which the child likes. 3. The child puts the toy car card onto the matching card. |
