Target ・Elementary school level, fifth graders
・Children who can count quantities up to twenty and perform matching with number cards, and who can match cards displaying comparison words ("long," "short," etc.) with their corresponding picture cards

Specific purposes ・To understand the change in relative relationship between a comparison word and its companion comparison word.
・To ensure an accurate understanding of the meaning (relativity) of various comparison words.
Considerations for disability characteristics ・Above each box a word accompanied by a simple illustration was displayed.
・For each pair of comparison words, three to four items from each of several different object varieties was presented.
・The order of presentation for the comparison objects was altered appropriately. All objects clearly fit one comparison category or the other, without any ambiguity.
Expected effects and results ・The children were able to correctly differentiate two objects while saying the comparison words.
・The children were able to correctly grasp the meaning of the questions and perform the comparison, even when the shape of the comparison objects changed significantly. (Ex: Sticks of various lengths → Strings of various lengths)
・Even in the case of weight, which is quality that cannot be grasped visually, the children were able to compare by holding the objects in their hands.
How to use 1. Read the comparison words
 ・Prompt the child to read the comparison words displayed on the boxes.
2. Sort two objects
 ・Place two objects in front of the child and prompt him/her to sort them into the boxes displaying the comparison word which suits each.
