Specific purposes ・To become able to choose one straw from among many and pick it up with his/her fingertips
・To become able to drop a straw in a hole and play
Considerations for disability characteristics ・The container containing the straws and the container into which the straws are to be dropped are placed together as a set in the same box so that a young child can play on his/her own.
・Straws of different lengths are supplied so that young children can finely adjust the movement of their fingertips.
Expected effects and results ・Young children were seen to take out the teaching material on their own and play by dropping the straws into the holes.
・When all straws in the container were gone, the children were occasionally seen to take out extra straws from storage and continue playing.
How to use 1. Place the teaching material in the Free Play Area so that young children can freely play with it on their own.
2. To play, pick up a straw from the container the containing straws and drop it in a nearby hole.
