Considerations for disability characteristics |
The table helps children and students with difficulty doing works with their upper limbs to stably perform work, write, etc. The table is easy to carry around and can be used anywhere when necessary, such as in a classroom and a special room. |
Expected effects and results |
The table raises what is on the surface to the eye level of the child/student, which stabilizes his or her posture and facilitates him or her to work. The table stabilizes the upper limbs and trunk, making the child/student less likely to become tired. |
How to use |
Materials: Flat board, two small buckets, duct tape * Fix the buckets on the back of the board with duct tape. * Instead of buckets, you can use any available objects as long as they are strong and stable and result in a height appropriate to the target child. * In the photos shown above, buckets for washing artist brushes found in the art room are used. Find objects that give a height that matches the child. In the photo, the table is used for art class. It can also be used for other classes, such as cooking, sewing, crafting of all sorts and writing (technical arts and home economics, learning for unit of work and activities for independent living). |
