Specific purposes | In lessons on nutrients, students easily recognize that it is important to have a balanced diet but may have hard time understanding what they should actually eat because nutrients are invisible to the human eye. The computer app for teaching the six food groups help students enjoy studying and understand food groups through visual information. |
Considerations for disability characteristics |
The app: - Helps students confirm what they have learnt by presenting visual information - Increases the time allocated for discussion because students do not need to write but only need to move diagrams. |
Expected effects and results |
The app helps students: - Visually understand the characteristics of food belonging to the same group and have the knowledge anchored - Cultivate the habit of thinking because they need to think in order to correctly classify foods. |
How to use |
- Write the nutritional characteristics of foods that belong to each of the six food groups on blackboard. - Ask students to open the page on the app (MetaMoji ClassRoom), where the clues explaining the food type are hidden and foods are randomly placed. Ask students to classify the foods. - Observe students. Help those who have difficulty classifying the foods by disclosing the clues. - When all students have finished classifying the foods, display their answers on the classroom monitor and check the answers. |
