Specific purposes The diagram helps students enjoy music played by an orchestra by having an idea of where each instrument is positioned and listening to how the sounds of the instruments playing the phrases harmonize with each other by visualizing the space in their mind.
Considerations for disability characteristics The diagram was prepared so that both students with low vision and those who entirely rely on tactile perception can use.
・ Corrugated cardboards of bright colors were used.
・ Buttons were used to represent instruments. The sizes of the buttons were altered according to the size of each instrument.
Expected effects and results The diagram is expected to facilitate students listen to the sounds of each instrument in the orchestra.
How to use Explain that the diagram depicts how the instruments are positioned on the stage when they are seen from the top, and ask students to imagine how the sounds of each instrument might be heard from the seats.
