Target Children in the third or fourth grades of the elementary division who:
• are learning social studies
• have difficulty reading maps
(elementary division)

Specific purposes To enable children to:
• select the necessary information from a map
• overlay multiple pieces of information.
Considerations for disability characteristics • Maps are created with information categorized by type on transparent sheets; they can be used not only by superimposing multiple sheets but also individually.
• The map sheets can be fixed with fasteners to keep them from becoming misaligned.
Expected effects and results • Children were able to pick up the necessary information from the map.
• They will be able to link multiple pieces of information on the map.
How to use • Use overhead projector (OHP) sheets that can be color printed.
• Align the size and print (and punch) positions of the sheets to those of the original map.
• Use fasteners that are easy for the children to use.
• Attach a mount so that the transparent map is easy to read.
