The booklet contains still pictures and explanatory text for the sign language expressions. Sign language videos can also be viewed on-line. |
Expected effects and results | Students simultaneously learn the terminology and the sign language expressions, thereby reinforcing the knowledge more securely in the students' minds. |
How to use |
・These materials are not meant for classroom use; rather, they are for self-learning by students. The technical terminology sign language booklets are kept in each classroom so that students can refer to them in their own time. ・Discussion about standardizing sign language expressions for dental technician terminology has been underway since 2005. Booklets and CDs have been created and distributed to relevant parties, from whom feedback has been solicited and incorporated into ongoing discussions. This standardization of sign language expressions has been carried out with the aim of having it used in dental technician training and education settings; however, it is also available for viewing on-line via personal computer, smartphone, etc., in order to encourage participation by as many people in the field of dentistry as possible. http://www.deaf-s.tsukuba.ac.jp/sigika/shuwa/ ・A PDF file of the booklet can also be downloaded. http://www.deaf-s.tsukuba.ac.jp/sigika/shuwa/sassi.htm |
