Target |
Students who are totally blind or have weak eyesight Junior high and senior high school level |
---|---|
Disability category | visual impairment |
Teaching units / Applicable scenes | arithmetic, mathematics |
Specific purposes | To allow students to visualize graphs and to confirm the images that they have. |
Considerations for disability characteristics |
・String magnets are attached to a whiteboard to ensure that a small amount of touching will not disturb their shape, as would be the case with normal string. String magnets also allow students to easily change the shape of the graph. ・IC tape is placed onto a smooth whiteboard to enable students to recognize the positioning of the coordinate axis. |
Expected effects and results | Students can draw a rough outline of the graph and share this with the other students and the instructor. |
How to use |
・Whiteboard: Should be small enough for students to touch all of it (A4 size). ・String magnets: Should be cut into lengths suited to drawing graphs. ・IC tape: Should be about 2mm wide and have a color which contrasts sharply with the whiteboard. |
