Specific purposes	A country’s national flags often express its history. Children will be able to learn the characteristics and history of each country by understanding the features of flag design by touch.
Considerations for disability characteristics	Flags are made by cut-and-paste craft with thick colored drawing paper, which enable children to understand the characteristics of the flags’ design by touch.
Expected effects and results	Children will be able to easily understand the outline of flags only by touch. Teachers will be able to explain the flags in specific detail.
How to use	Prepare flags for all the children, if possible. The best approach to have all the children touch the flag together at the same time, while the teacher explains.
Related teaching materials and information	Having children listen to national anthems by preparing lyrics (in Japanese translation, if possible) may be as effective as using national flags.
