Disability category | deaf and hard of hearing |
Teaching units / Applicable scenes | instruction for living skills instruction of play |
Specific purposes |
◎ To enrich mother–child interactions by having fun touching the wall decorations together ○ To expand the child’s understanding of the decorations hanging on the wall while the mother and her child are having fun with them |
Considerations for disability characteristics |
・ By looking at and touching the same thing, and by having fun together, the mother and her child will be able to communicate about a common topic. ・ To increase the child’s visual understanding of a variety of things, put up objects that are suitable for infants and convey the feeling of the season. |
Expected effects and results |
・ The teaching material became a tool for mother–child interaction. ・ Because infants could touch and play with the teaching material, they were frequently seen to try to start playing with it on their own. |
How to use | Choose a topic that is interesting to infants and come up with something they can play with. Tell the mother to let the infant freely touch and play with the teaching material and to communicate with her child while they play together. In the mother–child interactions and in the teacher–infant interactions, talk to the infants in short words, using phenomimes and phonomimes. In addition, you can, for example, use the whole body to jump like a frog or use the whole face to express surprise. |
