Disability category | visual impairment |
Teaching units / Applicable scenes | activities for independent living |
Specific purposes |
・To help children understand space ・To help children understand positional relationships and direction ・Children will use models of desks, chairs, lockers, and other objects and place them inside the model of the classroom to learn the arrangement of various objects in the classroom. |
Considerations for disability characteristics | ・A magnet sheet is put under each piece so that it can be fixed to a steel plate. |
Expected effects and results | ・Children will be able to learn the positional relationships between themselves and an object, direction, and so on. |
How to use |
・The model desks and chairs are created in the same shapes as those in the real classroom so that it will be easier for the children to associate the models with the real objects. ・Because the children can actively move around the model, they can learn while having fun and thus deepen their understanding. ・By representing themselves as round magnets that they place inside the model of the classroom, when the children move the magnets around they will be able to get a feeling for their location in the classroom, as well as the positional relationship between themselves and an object, the ways in which the positional relationship changes when viewed from a different direction, and many other things. |
